West Ham face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the 5:30pm Premier League kick-off this evening and it seems as though the hosts could be missing one of their key players.

The Hammers are currently flying high in fifth spot in the table whilst Palace are down in 11th having won just two of their last eight league games.

Going to Selhurst Park is never easy though. The West Ham players will have to be on top form if they are to leave south London with maximum points.

David Moyes has worked wonders since taking over at the London Stadium. We are in the midst of a mini-blip at the moment, however.

Hopefully our win away at Watford on Tuesday will be the start of a strong run of form as we head into the new year though.

And in what is good news for the Hammers, it seems as though Crystal Palace may have their work cut-out…

Big blow for Crystal Palace ahead of West Ham clash

Eagles boss Patrick Vieira has been isolating after testing positive for Covid-19 on Christmas Day. He could return to the touchline today, however, after having returned a negative result according to Football.London.

That is obviously good news for Palace but the prognosis isn’t looking good for one of their star men.

Palace assistant manager Osian Roberts spoke to reporters yesterday and suggested that Conor Gallagher could miss out once again after being absent from his side’s win over Norwich due to testing positive for Covid, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yeah, it’s still one where we’re unsure of (Gallagher) and we’re taking on a day today. The rest of the group, we’ll see what today brings. We’ve gone through the process as we do every day and hopefully, we’ll have clarity later on this evening or first thing tomorrow morning. And that’s why team selection always at the moment is got to be left till the very last minute.”

The 21-year-old absolutely bossed the game against West Ham at the London Stadium earlier this season.

Not having him available today will be a very big blow for Crystal Palace and a huge boost for the Hammers at the same time.

This is an absolutely vital game for West Ham. Nothing less than a win will do as we try to keep pace with those in and around us in the table.
