West Ham got their season going with a win at Aston Villa Villa yesterday and the three points lifted us off the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, Tottenham kept within touching distance of league leaders Arsenal with a win away at big spending Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers vs Spurs is always a lively encounter and Wednesday night’s clash will undoubtedly be no different…

Antonio Conte shares Tottenham injury update ahead of West Ham clash

The Italian addressed the media this afternoon ahead of the game against the Hammers on Wednesday.

And Conte provided an update on injured Spurs duo Cristian Romero and Oliver Skipp, as quoted by Tottenham’s official website:

“Cristian Romero and Skippy, today they had a training session with us, for sure, we have to wait now, to see if they are completely recovered, but this is a good sign for us and for the players.”

The West Ham players will be well up for this one against Tottenham, having earned their first win of the season yesterday.

However, the problem is that so will the Spurs players.

Conte will be desperate to have Romero back and available for selection, he really is a top-class player. Meanwhile, Skipp will offer the Italian another option in the middle of the park.

So having those two players back will be a big boost for Spurs.

The key for the West Ham players on Wednesday will be to impose themselves onto Tottenham. David Moyes’s men have more than enough about them to cause Spurs problems.

And if West Ham can topple Tottenham on Wednesday, our season really will be off and running.
