Michail Antonio has absolutely raved about his West Ham United teammate James Ward-Prowse, after he was omitted from the latest England squad by Gareth Southgate.
Gareth Southgate chose not to include West Ham star James Ward-Prowse in his England squad for the games against Austrilia and Italy, and Michail Antonio has just let the Three Lions boss have it with both barrels.

The 28-year-old was recently named in the Premier League team of the season so far by Who Scored. So that gives us an idea of how good he has been.

Hammers boss David Moyes deserves huge credit for bringing the midfielder to the club for just £30 million in the summer transfer window (Sky Sports).
Ward-Prowse may be making waves in East London, but he obviosuly hasn’t done enough this season as far as Southgate is concerned…
Michail Antonio lets rip at England manager Gareth Southgate with remarkable rant
The Hammers hitman has been blown away by the impact that Ward-Prowse has made since joining the club in the summer.
And Antonio raved about the 28-year-old, whilst simultaneously hammering Southgate, when speaking on the Footballer’s Football podcast:

“I’m not gonna lie, I’m upset with Gareth Southgate. It’s taking the mick, James Ward-Prowse, how on earth is he not getting a call-up. It’s embarrassing. The stats he’s got, everything he’s doing, he’s been playing week in, week out for years. But he keeps playing players who aren’t playing for their clubs. I understand why managers want to pick players who they trust. Ward-Prowse has been unbelievable for us, and his stats speak for himself. I’m not just saying it because he’s my teammate. If he calls him up at some poitn in the future, I wouldn’t go if I was him. I would say no, I don’t want to play for you.”
I have to agree with Antonio here, the fact that Southgate didn’t include Ward-Prowse in his latest squad was an absolute joke.
However, I have to say that I was pretty happy about it! It meant that he has had a nice couple of weeks off from playing and should be fresh as a daisy heading into our next batch of fixtures.
Ward-Prowse, who earns £100k-a-week at West Ham (Salary Sport) has taken us to another level this season, what with his professionalism, leadership, technical ability and cool and composed nature in the middle of the park.
Michail Antonio is right – Gareth Southgate got it so, so wrong by not including the former Saints midfielder in his latest England squad.
I reckon he’ll have to change his mind next month if Ward-Prowse continues to produce the goods for the Hammers.
