West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen made his debut for England against Hungary last night and linked up extremely well with Tottenham star Harry Kane.
On the whole, it was a really disappointing night for the Three Lions. The linkup between Bowen and Kane was one of the few positives for England boss Gareth Southgate to take away from the game, however.
The 25-year-old West Ham ace has been in sensational form this season, with 18 goals and 13 assists in 51 games (Transfermarkt).
Meanwhile, Kane was in good form for Tottenham as well, with 27 goals and 10 assists in 50 games to his name (Transfermarkt).
One of the main features of Kane’s game over the past couple of seasons has been his incredible linkup play with Heung-min Son for Tottenham.
The South Korea international bagged 24 goals and 10 assists in 45 games for Spurs last season (Transfermarkt).
Son and Kane linked up for more goals and assists than any other duo in the Premier League last season. And perhaps now Bowen can perform a similar role with Kane for England…
Jarrod Bowen can be Kane’s Son for England
The 25-year-old Hammers ace linked up with the Spurs forward beautifully last night.
Kane dropped deep throughout the match, much like he does for Tottenham, and Bowen made advancing runs in behind him.
The 28-year-old found Bowen a couple of times and on another night, the West Ham ace may well have scored a couple of goals.
England’s hopes of winning the World Cup in Qatar this winter will hinge heavily on Southgate’s ability to get the best out of Harry Kane – something he has been unable to do in the past two major tournaments.
Perhaps the West Ham ace can be the perfect foil for the Tottenham star out in Qatar.
Son has got the best out of his Spurs teammate over the past few years.
And now it could very well be Bowen’s turn to help Kane shine for England.
