Instead, Arsenal ace Emile Smith-Rowe got the call-up according to ESPN journalist James Olley.

What a shame.

We can’t argue against Smith-Rowe’s inclusion – he has been brilliant for Arsenal this season.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

But let’s be honest, Rashford shouldn’t have been in the England squad to begin with.

Bowen has done so much this season and would have been more than deserving of a call-up from Three Lions boss Southgate.

What is he playing at?

Bowen has bagged two goals and four assists in 11 Premier League games so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old’s work-rate can be matched by few at the very highest level as well.

With the Manchester United man having pulled out of the squad, surely Bowen was the man to get the nod.

Had Jarrod been playing for Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea or even Arsenal or Tottenham, Southgate probably would have already called him up a few times.

All Bowen can do is keep producing the goods, working hard and just hope that there comes a time whereby Southgate cannot possibly ignore him.

The England boss did say that he would pick his England squad based on form rather than reputations after all!

In all fairness though, all we care about is Bowen producing the goods for David Moyes and West Ham at the London Stadium.
