West Ham could have a Craig Dawson and Maxwel Cornet double boost for Bournemouth says Hammers boss David Moyes.

The Hammers will be looking to get their recent resurgence back on track against the Cherries after the harsh 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in midweek.

West Ham were without a host of key players at Anfield including Craig Dawson, Maxwel Cornet and Lucas Paqueta.

Moyes has delivered an update on Paqueta’s injury which you can read about here.

With so many games on the horizon before the break for the World Cup, the Hammers need as many of their players fit and firing as possible.

And there may be some welcome good news in that regard.

Because West Ham could have a Craig Dawson and Maxwel Cornet double boost says boss David Moyes.

Delivering an injury update in his pre-Bournemouth press conference, Moyes said he hopes to have both Dawson and Cornet back for the Cherries on Monday night.

The Scot conceded the game might come a touch too soon for Cornet but it suggests Dawson will return and the Ivory Coast winger won’t be far behind ahead of a busy period.

“We hope both are back (Cornet and Dawson) but it may come too soon for Maxi,” Moyes said in his presser (Football.London).

“We’ve got seven games to do (before the World Cup), you’ve got to sometimes chop and change, pick whose ready. You want to always play your best 11 if you can.”

Bournemouth have been going well under former Hammer Gary O’Neil.

But West Ham could leapfrog their opponents – and Crystal Palace in 11th – depending on results elsewhere.

Indeed Moyes’ boys could actually go into the top half of the table with a comfortable win depending on Brentford’s result this weekend.

Palace are away at Everton while the Bees are at Villa.

West Ham vs Bournemouth is Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football game and kicks off at 8pm.
