Celebrity West Ham United fan James Corden has been hit with a ban and has apologised after a backlash from a restaurant owner.
Corden shot to fame in the UK with his role co-writing and starring in hit show Gavin and Stacey – in which he plays West Ham fan Smithy.
That particular part did not require much acting from Corden as he is a renowned Hammers fanatic.
So much so the TV and film star even had his stag do at Upton Park with a host of celebrity chums including ex West Ham skipper and soon to be Sporting Director, Mark Noble (Daily Mail).

Celebrity West Ham fan James Corden hit with ban and apologises after backlash from restaurant owner
Corden cannot get to as many West Ham games as he would perhaps like nowadays having moved to America to front The Late Late Show. He is reportedly due to step down next year.
The famous Hammers supporter has found himself in the middle of some controversy this week, though.
Celebrity West Ham fan Corden has been hit with a ban and has apologised after a backlash from a restaurant owner in the US.
West Ham-supporting Corden was temporarily banned from a New York restaurant this week after being “extremely nasty” to staff on two occasions, the owner said.
“Keith McNally, who owns popular New York eatery Balthazar, said Corden had been an “abusive customer” after some errors with his orders,” BBC News reports.
“But he later revealed the actor and TV host had since called and “apologised profusely”.
“Mr McNally then lifted the ban, saying, “I strongly believe in second chances.”
“In an earlier post laying out what happened, Mr McNally had described the host of The Late Late Show as “a hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny cretin of a man”.

The BBC claims it has tried to contact Corden’s team for comment and state that the Hammers fanatic has not addressed the allegations in public.
The row appears resolved from the restaurant’s side, with Mr McNally observing: “Anyone magnanimous enough to apologise to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar.”
The world of celebrity is full of tittle tattle with those in the spotlight there to be shot at.
Nobody can question Corden’s love for West Ham, though. That was never more evident than a brilliant interview he did with Noble a few years ago, which you can see below.
