There is a quadruple injury nightmare for West Ham just as David Moyes faces the biggest battle of his Hammers tenure.

Moyes was under intense pressure heading into the World Cup break with West Ham just one point off the bottom three.

Just 13 wins from their last 42 Premier League matches means this is no sudden blip for the Hammers but a lingering malaise.

Many hoped the World Cup break would give Moyes time to reflect, reassess and reorganise his side ready for the restart.

That is now just one week away with a daunting trip to league leaders Arsenal up next on Boxing Day.

Quadruple injury nightmare for West Ham just as David Moyes faces the biggest battle of his tenure

Co-owner David Sullivan spoke out to Hammers News last week over reports he had fallen out with Moyes.

But a host of reports have claimed West Ham’s board want to see the club take six points from the next four games or the Scot may face the axe.

Now there is a quadruple injury nightmare for West Ham just as Moyes faces the biggest battle of his tenure.

Striker Michail Antonio missed today’s friendly with a thigh concern.

Then £35m summer striker signing Gianluca Scamacca limped off with an ankle injury during the game at Craven Cottage.

Aaron Cresswell also missed the game with a hamstring injury sustained at Cambridge.

And Maxwel Cornet, who Moyes said would be back after the World Cup, remains out injured having not been seen since going off with a calf knock at the start of October.

With Kurt Zouma out until mid-January and uncertainty over Nayef Aguerd’s availability for the restart, things are looking seriously ominous for Moyes and West Ham.

Earlier today Hammers News reported how Moyes is officially the only Premier League manager who has not spoken to his club’s fans since the break for the World Cup.

Let’s hope that radio silence comes to an end today and the Scot provides an update on where the Hammers stand on the injury front going into the most important run of games since his return to the club in 2020.
