Nayef Aguerd and West Ham United have been dealt a real hammer injury blow, as thigh strain may be worse than first feared.
L’Equipe claim that the 26-year-old Hammers star suffered a ‘grade 2’ thigh strain during Morocco’s World Cup clash with Spain last week.
It seems as though that original prognosis may have been wide of the mark though.

Aguerd could now be facing 4-6 weeks on the sidelines according to a report emanating from France…
Nayef Aguerd and West Ham dealt hammer injury blow
L’Equipe suggest that the Morocco international has sustained a ‘grade 2’ thigh strain.
According to the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, that could keep the 26-year-old out of action for as little as four weeks or as many as six.
That really is a hammer blow for him, his country and of course, West Ham United.
With his quality on the ball and electric pace, he is absolutely vital to Moyes’s hopes of changing his team into more of a possession-based one that presses much higher tip the pitch.
West Ham desperately need Aguerd back and playing regularly. His persistent injury problems are obviously a huge concern.

The good thing is that he didn’t injure the ankle that he had surgery on five months ago.
The Hammers have to hope and pray that the Moroccan isn’t out for the full six weeks. That would mean that we won’t have him back and available for selection until February time.
The last thing that Moyes needed was to lose one of his best players for a sustained period of time, with so many vital fixtures lying in wait on the horizon.
If Nayef Aguerd is out of action for 4-6 weeks, it really will be a huge injury blow for the club.
