Lucas Paqueta has posted a sensational new fitness update with video ahead of West Ham United’s clash with Bournemouth.

Paqueta missed West Ham’s harsh defeat at Liverpool with an injury to his collarbone sustained in the draw against Southampton.

The Brazil ace played on after the initial injury in that game but went down off the ball late on in some pain and had to be substituted.

Initially West Ham boss David Moyes described the injury as “serious” ahead of the Liverpool defeat on Wednesday night.

That gave The Daily Mail all the rope they needed to run a sensational story that evening claiming West Ham’s record signing looked set to miss the World Cup.

But no sooner had they published that story than Paqueta himself spoke out saying he would only be out for two weeks.

Moyes then provided a positive update in his pre-Bournemouth press conference, confirming the injury was not as bad as first feared.

But the Scot did say he would have to be careful with West Ham’s record signing given the unusual nature of the injury.

“We don’t think Lucas Paqueta’s injury is as serious as first feared,” Moyes said in his presser (whufc.com).

“But the injury is not one that is normal for football players, so we need to treat it accordingly.”

This evening, though, the Brazil star has delivered some brilliant news.

He says he has healed up after just five days and hinted he could feature on Monday night for the Hammers.

“Five days ago I had the news that moved me the most in all this time in football, a not so normal injury, some ligaments in the clavicle region torn, fissure in the cartilage of the first rib,” Paqueta said on Twitter alongside a video of him training at West Ham’s Rush Green base.

“Many doubts, fears!

“But above all much prayer and gratitude to God!

“Today five days after this news, I feel a great evolution and most importantly, movements without any pain!

“Thank you God, for taking care and protecting me! We keep working because our goal is big and WE are going to get it.”
