Angelo Ogbonna took to Twitter last night to post a video as he continues his recovery from a serious ACL injury.

The 33-year-old West Ham centre-back suffered an ACL injury against Liverpool at the London Stadium way back in November.

And the time, it was thought that the injury would rule the Italian defender out for the entire season.

Since Angelo Ogbonna has been out with an ACL injury, West Ham have really missed him.

That’s not to say that Craig Dawson hasn’t been outstanding since filling in for the Italian because he has. But the former Juventus defender is a real leader and a massively commanding figure at the back for the Hammers.

He is a real organiser from both defensive and attacking set-pieces as well. Ogyy is generally a huge character and any team would have missed him during his five month absence.

There have been murmurings amongst club insiders that the 33-year-old could make a shock return to action for West Ham before the end of the season.

What an unbelievable boost that would be for the Hammers players, David Moyes and the club’s fans ahead of the all important run-in.

And it seems as though Ogbonna playing before the end of the season could now be a real possibility.

The Italian took to Twitter last night and posed a really exciting injury recovery update:

How good is it to see Oggy back in the gym.

He will still be a long, long way away from being able to take part in contact training.

But how good would it be to have him involved in some kind of training midway through next month and to actually have him as an option for the final few games of the season!

Who knows? It certainly seems like an outside possibility.

When Ogbonna first suffered the ACL injury back in November it was thought that he would be out injured for 9-12 months.

He is seemingly well ahead of schedule in his recovery though. And the sooner that the 33-year-old Italian comes back into contention for selection the better for West Ham United.
