West Ham United want to sign a new striker in January and have been linked with former Tottenham forward Troy Parrott.
The Republic of Ireland striker is currently plying his trade at AZ Alkmaar and is having an exceptional season for club and country.
He has bagged 20 goals in 23 games in all competitions and has been the talisman for the Dutch side.
West Ham, on the other hand, have struggled to find consistency in the final third.
Callum Wilson and Jarrod Bowen are currently leading the charts with only four goals apiece.

Troy Parrott unlikely to impact West Ham United wage bill drastically
West Ham like Parrott and are considering making a move for him in the coming weeks, once the January transfer window opens.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants a reliable number nine who he can start week in and week out, and have Wilson coming off the bench rather than being a regular starter.
Troy Parrott will be West Ham’s best goal-scoring option. How much should the club sign him for?
Niclas Fullkrug is also expected to leave, so his exit will free up space in the squad and wage bill.
It will also give the Hammers a decent transfer fee, which they can use to fund the Parrott transfer.
Currently, the Irish striker is earning a little under £25k/week at the Dutch side, according to Capology.
It’s understood that the 23-year-old will demand a massive hike should he move to the London Stadium.
With a threefold increase in his base pay, excluding bonus, Parrott could demand £75k/week and then ask for performance-based incentives to take it above the £100k mark.
This will certainly not impact their wage bill drastically, as there are expected to be a number of exits at West Ham in January.
Niclas Fullkrug is expected to leave in January. What is your favourite moment of him in a West Ham shirt?
What does Parrott’s arrival mean for Wilson?
Wilson’s transfer was much talked about in the summer as he was not viewed as the man to address the club’s goal-scoring woes.
While he is leading their goal-scoring charts in December, as he is 33, he is unable to play the full 90 minutes week in and week out.
Should Parrott arrive in January, Wilson is most likely going to be the second-choice striker as Nuno is not expected to change his system to accommodate both number nines at the same time.
While there may be occasions when the two are on the pitch at the same time, they are not expected to start together.
