Niclas Fullkrug appears to be on his way out of West Ham United in the January transfer window.

The Germany international has struggled to adapt to life in England since his move to the London Stadium last summer.

West Ham paid Borussia Dortmund £27million for the 32-year-old striker, who has only managed to score three goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Lazio join host of clubs in race for Niclas Fullkrug

Hammers News has learned that Lazio are now keen on signing Fullkrug in the January transfer window.

The two-time Serie A winners believe that the West Ham United striker could bolster their front line and give Maurizio Sarri what he is looking for in the final third.

After finishing seventh last season, the Italian side want to do better this time around and end the season in the European spots.

Sarri’s interest in Fullkrug, along with a host of clubs lurking around the German, could see the Irons spark a bidding war, sources tell Hammers News.

He will not be worth anything close to what they paid for him, but at this point, West Ham are open to cutting their losses with the towering centre forward.

How can West Ham spark a bidding war for Fullkrug?

West Ham can brief the media about their intentions to sell Fullkrug and quote an asking price in the region of £20million.

While he has done little to justify that price tag at the age of 32, clubs often quote high prices to see how the market responds.

The fact that there are a lot of clubs keen and a new one in Lazio has just joined the race, means that there could be multiple offers arriving in the coming weeks.

The Hammers do want to offload the German, but they are in a position of strength when it comes to negotiations surrounding his future.

His contract runs until June 2028, so it is not that they are running out of time to get a transfer fee.

It remains to be seen where Fullkrug is playing the rest of the 2025/26 campaign.
