West Ham United have got a truly unbelievable player on our hands in the form of Edson Alvarez.
Edson Alvarez played his third game for West Ham against Luton last night, and he was once again one of the standout performers for David Moyes.

Alvarez joined the East London club from Ajax last month for around £34 million.

The 25-year-old has already firmly cemented himself as a real Hammers fan favourite at the London Stadium.
And his performance last night proved what an unbelievable bargain West Ham have secured by signing the Mexico international…
West Ham are better off without Declan Rice, Edson Alvarez stats vs Luton will blow your minds
The former Ajax man was one of our best performers against Luton last night, if not the best.
He was always available to receive the ball and provided a really solid shield for our defenders. His slide tackle during the final stages of the game last night really was a joy to behold.
Edson Alvarez for just £34 million has to go down as one of the best signings in the Premier League this summer.
His stats against Luton last night make for hugely impressive reading.
Alvarez had 95 touches and made three tackles, one interception, five clearances, two blocks and won three aerial duels. He had one shot on goal and made one key pass. The Mexican made 74 passes and recorded a completion rate of 86.5% (Who Scored). You won’t find a more well-rounded, complete performance than that from a midfielder.

It could be argued that he does his job – sitting just in front of the back four – better than Declan Rice did for West Ham.
The England international evolved into more of a box-to-box player during his final two years at the London Stadium and as a result, the Hammers were far too easy to break down.
David Moyes deserves huge credit for the way in which he has spent the Declan Rice money. Edson Alvarez is exactly the kind of player West Ham needed this summer.
Not only is he hard as nails and tenacious in the tackle, but he is also very good with the ball at his feet as well. The Mexican is the complete defensive midfielder and I think he’ll go on to become a Hammers legend.
