So, now that Lucas Paqueta’s departure has been confirmed, how will you look back on the Brazilian’s time at West Ham United?

That is one of a number of questions we at Hammers News are putting to you – the fans – as West Ham United ramp up their preparations for Saturday’s London derby at Stamford Bridge.

As Nuno Espirito Santo said during his press conference, Lucas Paqueta could have timed his exit better.

How will you remember Lucas Paqueta? 🤔

He rejoins Flamengo, while leaving the Hammers five points adrift in the relegation zone. Understandably, given that his performances have waned, ill-discipline has occasionally taken hold, and following months of prolonged speculation, Paqueta leaves not as a fan favourite but as one of the more divisive West Ham players since Dimitri Payet.

You have already told us that Lucas Paqueta may have been ‘holding the team back’.

Is this how you will remember him? For those silly fouls, those cheap giveaways, and a series of anonymous performances? Or can you look past that and towards the glory of that night in Prague?

Lucas Paqueta leaves but Crysencio Summerville is better than ever for West Ham

Paqueta becomes the most expensive signing in Brazil’s Serie A, for a reported £35 million.

The 2023 Europa Conference League winner is also the fourth-biggest sale in West Ham’s history. If he is worth £35 million, though, how much would you want for Crysencio Summerville?

We ask because, according to Fabrizio Romano, Italian giants Roma tried to sign Summerville this month. The in-form winger will not be leaving unless a ‘crazy offer’ arrives.

But what do you think constitutes ‘crazy’?

If Paqueta left for £35m, how much is Summerville worth right now? 🤑

Roma made an offer in January…

Summerville can emulate Jarrod Bowen at Stamford Bridge

West Ham’s number seven is ‘on flames’ right now, according to young Ollie Scarles.

Should Summerville find the net away to Chelsea, he will become only the fourth Hammer to score in four straight games since Tony Cottee in 1986. Are you backing him to join Jarrod Bowen, Jesse Lingard and Diafra Sakho in a very exclusive club of claret quartets?

Summerville does something only three Hammers have done before! ⚽⚽⚽⚽

What do YOU think sparked his goalscoring run?

James Ward-Prowse joins Scott Parker’s Burnley

This is a question we’ve been asking a lot recently. Why did X player not work out at West Ham?

You could replace that ‘X’ with Guido Rodriguez, Niclas Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme and now, the latest player to say farewell, James Ward-Prowse.

Ward-Prowse leaves after being frozen out by Nuno, joining Burnley on an initial loan deal. If Paqueta’s time in East London started well but fell off a cliff, then Ward-Prowse never really got going.

Why do YOU think it didn’t work out for James Ward-Prowse at West Ham?

Despite snapping up Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos, West Ham continue to be linked with yet more centre-forwards.

The Turkish press claim that West Ham hope to lure Jhon Duran back to England from Fenerbahce. A long-time target for the Hammers, could a man who burned briefly but oh-so brightly at Villa Park be the prolific goalscorer they have longed for?

What would you say if West Ham pulled off a SWOOP for Jhon Duran? 🎉 🎆

The former Aston Villa star has been linked again…

Remembering Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano

Oh how they could do with him now.

Carlos Tevez saved Alan Curbishley’s West Ham side from relegation in 2007. That is one way to make yourself a legend. The less said about Javier Mascherano’s time at Upton Park, the better.

Nearly 20 years on, what would it take for West Ham to pull off a transfer more surprising than this most bemusing of double deals?

Who would West Ham have to sign now for it to be as big of a shock as when we signed Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano? 😂

Please let us know how you felt about it at the time too! 👇
