Ollie Scarles names the West Ham star who is ‘on flames’ right now and he’s right

Ollie Scarles has been full of praise for a West Ham United player who has stepped up in recent weeks.

Three consecutive wins have raised fresh hope for a West Ham United team who looked dead and buried following defeats to Wolves and Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

While there is still a lot left to do, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have at least proven that they are up for the fight.

How many points would West Ham have taken from their last two games if Lucas Paqueta had been playing? 🤔

Maybe I’m harsh, but I just don’t think he suits this team anymore…

Scarles has been one of those to have impressed in recent weeks, alongside new signings Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe.

West Ham’s win over Sunderland was their best performance of the season and Scarles paid special mention to another leading player in the form of Crysencio Summerville.

Scarles was speaking to West Ham’s official website.

While the recent improvement has clearly been a team effort, Summerville has been a particular highlight for the Hammers.

The Dutchman scored against QPR, Tottenham and Sunderland, while also assisting in the FA Cup game against West Ham’s London rivals in fantastic fashion.

The former Leeds star is clearly in his best form since joining the Irons in the summer of 2024.

Prior to his goal against QPR, he hadn’t scored since October 2024.

Summerville has a new lease of life under Nuno and Scarles believes his teammate is “on flames” right now.

It’s difficult to disagree…

“Cry’s been brilliant, and everyone can see that he’s on flames at the moment,” said Scarles.

“I feel like we’ve got a good relationship, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can develop that further going forward.”

Why Crysencio Summerville has suddenly improved at West Ham United

Nuno has explained Summerville’s improvement at West Ham, claiming it’s down to getting more bodies in the box in attacking positions.

If you don’t shoot, you don’t score and that was summed up best by Summerville’s goal against Spurs, which took a deflection off Micky van de Ven.

In the absence of Lucas Paqueta, Summerville has taken on creative duties. He’s so far stepped up to the plate, and it still feels like he’s got a few levels to get to yet.

Summerville is in fine form for West Ham and long may that continue.
