Hammers boss David Moyes would have known just how tough today’s game would be against the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup holders, as would the fans.

Outstanding 29-year-old West Ham ace was absolutely unbelievable vs Manchester City
What a signing Emerson has proven to be for the Hammers.
He defended brilliantly well today against Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker and was a huge threat going forward as well.
Against Man City, the former Chelsea man made two tackles, one interception and one clearance. He made one key pass and registered a pass completion rate of 84.6% (Who Scored).

West Ham are a completely different side when the 29-year-old is playing rather than Aaron Cresswell.
Emerson’s pace and power really is very impressive, especially considering the fact that he’s 29.
The £15 million that the Hammers paid for the Italy international now looks like an absolute bargain.
Emerson is going from strength to strength for West Ham and long may it continue. Chelsea may well now be left wondering why on earth they sold him in the first place.
