West Ham United fans could be forgiven for getting restless as the start of the season looms with goalkeeper Alphonse Areola the club’s only arrival.
David Moyes clearly needs more reinforcements, particularly up front and in central defence.
Privately West Ham have been very clear all summer that A) Moyes is fully in charge of transfers as he has been since his return to the club – with great success. And B) money IS available for signings.

Some Hammers fans concerned over lack of arrivals ahead of new season
West Ham are yet to get any deals over the line since bringing Areola in on loan with an £11m option to buy.
And many supporters are worried with the window closing in less than three weeks.
So should West Ham fans take a step back and trust the manager who has completely turned the club around on and off the pitch.

Moyes has earned the nickname ‘dithering Dave’ but he has also earned our trust
As fans of Everton and Manchester United know well Moyes has been labelled ‘dithering Dave’ in the past as a result of the time he takes to make his mind up on signing players.
West Ham are perhaps starting to see that now.
There is a reason Moyes earned that nickname. But he has also earned the trust of West Ham fans.
He would not have signed a new three-year deal had he not been given assurances he will be backed to beef up his squad.
But one look at the list of signings Moyes has made using his more considered and fastidious approach should reassure West Ham fans that they are in good hands.

Astonishing list of signings shows quality over quantity is key for West Ham
And if and when the Hammers do land a signing or two they will be the RIGHT players.
Jarrod Bowen at £20m has proved a fantastic bit of business.
Hammer of the Year Tomas Soucek at £18m is one of the bargains of the modern Premier League era. And if you think that’s good how about signing of the season Vladimir Coufal for just £5.5m.
Craig Dawson for £2.5m, Benrahma for £25m with older, lesser talents going for double that, Jesse Lingard for a £3m loan fee and now potentially Areola for just £11m it is some list of success stories Moyes is compiling.
If a player like Nikola Milenkovic is added for the reported £17m that too would be an absolute bargain.
West Ham fans have to continue to trust Moyes’s recruitment process. At least until the window closes on August 31st.
