The arrival of Flynn Downes at West Ham United allegedly could spell the end for young midfielder Conor Coventry.
That’s according to club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that the 22-year-old’s path to the first-team could now be problematic.

If true, that’s a big shame for Conor Coventry.
The 22-year-old midfielder was expected to play a part for the first-team this season.
He spent a successful loan spell away from the London Stadium last season with MK Dons and it seems as though he may well have to make do with another move away from West Ham this summer.
David Moyes has Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Downes as central midfield options for the 2022/23 season.

Coventry would have been hoping to kick on and prove his worth for the Hammers this term. He may well be left disappointed though…
West Ham exit on the cards for Conor Coventry
Claret and Hugh reckon that the arrival of Flynn Downes could spell the end of Coventry’s time at the London Stadium
We believe that moving the 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international on would be a big mistake from David Moyes though.
If West Ham are to compete for honours on all fronts this season, Moyes needs at least four central midfielders to choose from.
So unless he plans on bringing in another engine room addition, selling Coventry, or even loaning him out again, would make little sense.

Moyes should at least check out the London-born midfielder during pre-season before making any kind of decision on his future.
Having Downes and Coventry competing against each other for a place in the first-team squad will be a very good thing.
It’s all about healthy competition after all.
The 22-year-old Hammer seems to have a lot of qualities that make him ideally suited to our style of play and the robust and intense nature of Premier League football.
If Conor Coventry is allowed to leave the London Stadium this summer, West Ham may well end up regretting it.
