Michail Antonio is available for selection for West Ham United’s clash with Southampton at the London Stadium this afternoon according to club insiders Claret and Hugh.
The Hammers play host to the Saints in the three o’clock Premier League kick-off in East London.
Michail Antonio played for West Ham in our last league game against Arsenal 11 days ago but missed our Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Tottenham on Wednesday having tested positive for Covid-19.
West Ham boss David Moyes will be desperate for his team to pick up all three points against Southampton this afternoon.
The Saints have been fairly poor this season and if the Hammers players at their best, we should have no problem beating Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
West Ham insider drops Moyes team selection update for Southampton clash
With Michail Antonio having missed our last match against Tottenham, there were fears that he could be unavailable for the game against the Saints today.
It appears as though that isn’t the case though.
Claret and Hugh reckon that the 31-year-old is in Moyes’s plans for today’s game.
Hopefully the 11 days rest has done Antonio the world of good. We need him back to his best as a matter of urgency.
The former Nottingham Forest man started this season in fine form but has gone off the boil badly over the past month or so.
Our hopes of finishing inside the top four this term depends heavily on Antonio’s ability to rediscover his best form. He is unplayable on his day.
Micky has the kind of ability that could cause the Southampton defence all sorts of problems.
Whether today’s game will come too soon for Antonio though, remains to be seen.
