West Ham manager David Moyes absolutely raved about Jarrod Bowen when speaking to reporters yesterday.
The 25-year-old Hammers star has been in absolutely sensational form this season.
Bowen has bagged 12 goals and 11 assists in 35 games in all competitions for West Ham this term. He now has 21 goals and 21 assists for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium in January 2020 (Transfermarkt).
The hard-working attacker joined West Ham from Hull City just over two years ago for around £20 million (BBC).
That now looks like an absolute bargain.
Bowen is England’s most in-form winger at the moment and it will be an absolute travesty if he is not included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad next month.
Moyes raves about Jarrod Bowen
Alongside Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen has been the Hammers’ best and most consistent player this season.
He is absolutely vital to West Ham and is undoubtedly one of the very first names on Moyes’s team-sheet week in, week out.
Moyes was speaking to reporters yesterday afternoon and he responded when asked just how good Jarrod Bowen has been this season, as quoted by Football.London:
“He has stepped up when we needed him, his goals and assists have been great. So now what we want from Jarrod is consistency but he has become a little bit more in control of himself and an understanding of the all-round situation, his finishing has become very good recently and he is in good form, we talk about confidence and Jarrod is in a really good being of confidence which is important for the forward players.”
The sky really is the limit for Jarrod Bowen.
We all know that he has unbelievable ability but he is probably one of the hardest working players in the Premier League as well.
That’s a fairly impressive combination.
The next step for Jarrod is to start producing the goods consistently on the international stage for England. He has already proven himself for West Ham, but he has to keep those levels up if he is to be considered as an elite player.
We think Bowen has what it takes to do exactly that and judging by David Moyes’s comments, so does he.
