West Ham United are allegedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to 90Min who claims that Hammers boss David Moyes is very keen to bring the Leicester ace to the London Stadium when the window opens.

The Scot has a lot of work to do in the transfer market in the summer.

West Ham need to sign a top-class striker, if not two. We also need a quality centre-back and an elite left-back.

It could be argued that we need a top quality central midfielder as well though. Mark Noble is set to retire whilst Alex Kral will surely return to Spartak Moscow, having failed to impress during his loan spell at the London Stadium.

And it seems as though Moyes has a surprising plan up his sleeve…

West Ham eye move to sign Leicester ace in the summer transfer window

The 24-year-old Foxes ace is firmly on the Hammers’ radar according to a report from 90Min.

Leicester paid £32million to sign Tielemans in 2019 and his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023 – when he will be able to leave for absolutely nothing.

The midfielder is an incredibly gifted player from a technical perspective.

He has bagged 24 goals and 22 assists in 136 games for Leicester since moving to the King Power Stadium two-and-a-half years ago (Transfemarkt).

Tielemans is one of the very best around.

His refusal to sign a new contract with Leicester will surely be a big turn-off for Moyes, however, given how much emphasis the Scot places on good character.

The Foxes gave Tielemans the platform to showcase his talent in the Premier League and it is obvious that he has absolutely no loyalty to them despite that.

As good as the Belgium international undoubtedly is, not only do we think that this report doesn’t have much truth to it but we also think that Tielemans wouldn’t be a great addition to the West Ham squad, given the close bond currently present inside the London Stadium dressing room.

He could easily upset the apple cart. Besides, he will probably end up at one of Europe’s biggest clubs anyway…
