West Ham manager David Moyes absolutely raved about the performance of Mark Noble yesterday after our 4-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road.

The 34-year-old Hammers skipper made his first Premier League start of the season against the Hornets yesterday afternoon.

Declan Rice was suspended and some West Ham fans were fearing the worst when they saw Noble’s name on the team-sheet.

Some say that the experienced midfielder’s legs have gone and that he isn’t good enough to be playing Premier League football anymore.

David Moyes clearly trusts Noble though. He is obviously a very important figure at the London Stadium behind the scenes but he proved yesterday that he is still capable of having a big influence on the pitch as well.

David Moyes raves about Mark Noble display for West Ham vs Watford

The 34-year-old totally ran the show in the middle of the park for the Hammers yesterday afternoon at Vicarage Road.

Moyes spoke to reporters and responded when asked what he though about Noble’s performance, as quoted by Football.London:

“He gave me the performance I really hoped for and the leadership and quality from someone who has had so many games at the club, he knows what it means and knew that we had been in a sticky period and he handled it no problem. Overall he was probably as good as anybody on the pitch today with how he performed and the way he led the team so I have to give him big plaudits for it. He has had to sit behind Declan and Tomas a bit this year and there are games that will suit Mark and today was one that suited him.”

Noble’s stats yesterday speak for themselves.

The 34-year-old has 76 touches, made 68 passes and registered a completion rate of 76.5%. He made one interception, one tackle and completed nine long passes (Who Scored).

Noble scored our third goal of the afternoon as well. Mr reliable did not let us down from the spot.

It was great to see Mark Noble strutting his stuff in the Premier League once again yesterday. He’s retiring at the end of the season so there won’t be too many more days like yesterday.

Let’s soak it in while we can. We’re certainly not emotionally prepared for the day when Noble eventually hangs up his boots!
