David Moyes admitted that he’s desperate to do something special in the Premier League at West Ham when discussing the chances of a top four finish this season.

The Hammers are currently sitting in sixth spot in the Premier League table, three points adrift of fourth placed Arsenal but we have played two games more than the Gunners.

We are still in with a chance of a top four finish. Never write this West Ham team off.

Perhaps a top seven finish this season will be a more realistic target though considering the fact that we have had so much more football to play.

Our exploits in the Europa League this season have been mightily impressive and we face the biggest and most important game of the last 16 years tonight with Sevilla heading to the London Stadium for the second-leg of our last 16 tie.

And then after that, the Hammers face the biggest Premier League game of this season – Tottenham away. A defeat against Spurs may well end our hopes of a top four finish this season.

Moyes has insisted that he is trying to achieve something very special at the London Stadium though…

“We’re desperate to do something at West Ham but it’s really hard because of the level of competition and the Premier League is so tough.”

West Ham certainly have a chance to gatecrash the top four this season and disrupt the status quo.

We just believe that this season will come way too soon in our development as a football club.

Another top six finish would be a real achievement and then hopefully Moyes makes some big-name signings in the summer to help take us to another level.

First though, let’s deal with tonight’s game against Sevilla. And who knows…we may qualify for the Champions League through an avenue other than the Premier League this season!
