Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to condemn David Moyes’s decision to start Kurt Zouma for West Ham United against Watford last night.
Zouma was embroiled in huge controversy yesterday after a video emerged showing him kicking and slapping his pet cat whilst laughing along with his children and brother.
It really was disturbing to watch. And the worrying thing is that his actions behind the camera suggest that this almost certainly was not an isolated incident.

There seems to have been widespread condemnation of there 27-year-old’s action from fans, pundits and players alike.

There are those who will suggest that the incident is being blown out of proportion but the bottom line is that what Zouma did to that poor defenceless animal was in fact indefensible.
He should be punished by the club, that goes without saying. But it was a huge surprise when he was selected to start last night’s match against Watford by David Moyes.
Lineker lambasts Moyes after Zouma decision
The Scot repeatedly insisted during his post-match interviews that his job is to pick the best team available to him to win football matches.

Moyes suggested that West Ham will take action but that isn’t his remit.
And Lineker took to Twitter to suggest that he was appalled by the decision to start the 27-year-old Hammers centre-back last night:
The Hammers have to make some kind of stand in response to what has happened here.
Perhaps ask Zouma to donate two week’s wage to the RSPCA and demand that he educates himself on animal welfare.
The bottom line is that something has to be done. There is no way that we can let this slide as a football club. And the sooner the owners act, the better for everyone involved.
