Trevor Sinclair was clearly not happy with West Ham United’s decision to start Kurt Zouma against Watford last night.

The Hammers played host to Watford at the London Stadium in the Premier League yesterday.

David Moyes’s side won the game 1-0. It was a dank, turgid performance from West Ham but a win is a win and three points is all that matters at this stage of the season.

The build up to the game last night was dominated by talk of Kurt Zouma.

The 27-year-old was filmed kicking and slapping his pet cat. The Frenchman was condemned by the club, obviously, and then sent out a fairly bog-standard apology.

Many were suggesting that he should be fined a couple of weeks wages and kept out of the team for a while.

David Moyes incredibly chose to start Zouma against Watford last night, however.

Trevor Sinclair shocked by Kurt Zouma inclusion in West Ham starting XI vs Watford

Fans and pundits alike could not believe it when the team sheet was released last night.

Moyes picked Zouma to start the game and received a real backlash from most people involved with the game.

Everyone makes mistakes but the 27-year-old really does need to be punished for his actions. Quite how West Ham will deal with his transgressions behind closed doors remains to be seen.

Many believe that he should have been banished from the squad last night at the very least. The situation was still so incredibly raw.

Trevor Sinclair certainly wasn’t happy that Zouma was picked to start against Watford last night:

Many will surely agree.

The problem that David Moyes faced was that last night’s game was such an important one and his job was to pick the best team available to him.

The club clearly hadn’t suspended Zouma up to kick-off time last night so the Scot was well within his rights to start the Frenchman.

And in fairness, his performance against Watford was arguably his best in a West Ham shirt.

The Hammers will be under scrutiny now, however, as people watch on and wait for action to be taken against Zouma.
