Sky Sports reporter doubles down on bold Declan Rice claim, with the West Ham United captain’s future in doubt.

The 23-year-old Hammers ace is the best and most important player that David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium.

So with that in mind, it was a big blow to stomach when Dec came out in a press conference and shared how desperate he is to play Champions League football and to compete for major honours regularly.

Rice’s comments have caused a situation that Moyes needs to address immediately, before it spirals dangerously out of control.

West Ham are open to selling Rice, but for nothing less than £150 million according to the likes of The Telegraph.

There is of course another option…one where Rice stays at the London Stadium.

Dharmesh Sheth claimed back in October that the England international leaving the London Stadium is far from a foregone conclusion.

And now the Sky Sports journalist has doubled down on that claim.

Sheth told Give Me Sport:

I just think there’s no pressure as such for West Ham United to sell. I think he’s got a contract that runs until 2024 with a club option of a further year, so we can still say he’s got a contract at West Ham United until 2025. So West Ham can put whatever price they want on him.

That’s good to hear but I have to say, I’m not convinced that Sheth has got this one right.

If West Ham are to sell Dec, we will have to do it in the summer of 2023, in order to get maximum value.

It’s clear and obvious that Rice will not be signing a new deal at the London Stadium.

When the inevitable happens, and he doesn’t sign the next contract offer presented to him, it will be time for the Hammers owners to cash in.

So despite Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth doubling down on his bold Declan Rice claim, I believe that he might have got this one wrong.
