There was radio silence from David Moyes after the Udinese win but assistant Billy McKinlay singled one West Ham star out for special praise.
West Ham fans have not heard anything from Moyes since the first team squad returned to training ahead of the Premier League restart.
There have been no interviews with the Scot, who has been doing a column in The Times, and obviously no press conferences either.
Hammers supporters expected to hear the under pressure manager’s thoughts after the 4-2 win over Cambridge last Tuesday night. But assistant Mark Warburton filled in for Moyes in speaking to the club site.

That led to rumours Moyes had been sacked with website 6foot2 running a story denying such speculation.
Football Insider then ran an exclusive story claiming Moyes is “close to getting the sack at West Ham” after a fall-out with majority stakeholder Sullivan.
But Sullivan spoke to Hammers News to respond emphatically to those claims.
There was radio silence from Moyes again after the Udinese win but assistant McKinlay singled one West Ham star out for special praise.

Moyes handed over post match duties to another of his assistants, this time McKinlay, following the 3-1 victory in Italy.
And his fellow Scot highlighted the performance of Jarrod Bowen as the most pleasing aspect of the friendly match.
“Jarrod was a major threat, especially off the back of the disappointment of not going to the World Cup with England,” McKinlay said after Bowen had a hand in two of the three goals and looked much sharper than he as been previously this season.

“We know how important Jarrod is to us and I thought he was particularly dangerous today. He had a lot of really good situations and created a couple of goals for us.
“We know he’ll come good in terms of goals in the second half of the season, so we’re pleased for him.”
It was great to see Bowen looking lively and dangerous again.
And although it would be nice to hear from the manager at some point during this mid-season break, we should not read anything into the fact Moyes is yet to do any media.
