A journalist has made a huge David Moyes sack claim ahead of a must-win clash against bogey team Brentford on Friday night.
It was like Groundhog Day for West Ham fans as the Premier League resumed on Boxing Day evening with defeat to Arsenal.
It was West Ham’s fourth loss in a row either side of the World Cup break and leaves Moyes’ side just two points off the bottom of the table.
When West Ham went into the pause for Qatar it was to increasing noise around Moyes’ job and a fair few jeers from the club’s fans.

This is no knee-jerk reaction from Hammers fans, though. A couple of memorable European nights aside, West Ham’s poor form stretches back a full year with just 13 wins in their last 43 Premier League games.
That has sparked intense speculation that the Scot could be axed from the Hammers hotseat.
Moyes has been publicly backed by the owners via Hammers News.
Co-owner Sullivan spoke to Hammers News to give Moyes his full backing. But that did not stop claims from elsewhere that the boss is on a knife-edge when the Premier League resumes at Arsenal on Boxing Day.
Website Claret and Hugh has long maintained that Moyes effectively has four games to get a set number of points and stave off pressure on his job. That ultimatum – if true – is now two wins from three following the Arsenal defeat.
Moyes gave a reporter short shrift in his pre-Arsenal press conference when probed on whether he is under pressure from majority stakeholder Sullivan.
Now a journalist has made a huge Moyes sack claim ahead of a must-win clash against bogey team Brentford.

The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas says it ‘remains to be seen’ whether Moyes will be in the West Ham dugout for the FA Cup clash with Brentford on January 7th, essentially billing Friday’s Prem clash a must-win.
“West Ham host Brentford this Friday in what is now a crucial Premier League game,” Thomas states on The Athletic.
“It is worth remembering Brentford did the double over West Ham in 2021-22.
“Both teams face each other again in the third round of the FA Cup on January 7, but it remains to be seen if Moyes will remain in the dugout if the poor form persists.
“The arrival of eight summer signings has been a factor in the board giving Moyes time to turn it around. However, anything but a win against Brentford will only heighten the clamour for change.”
That sounds very ominous indeed and very much ties into what we have been hearing from club insiders Claret and Hugh for some time now.
