Hammers new-boy Gianluca Scamacca is self admittedly ‘angry’, and it’s a great sign for West Ham United.

Scamacca joined the Hammers from Italian side Sassuolo in the summer transfer window for around £35 million (Sky Sports).

He has made a very solid start to life at the London Stadium, with six goals in 12 games to his name so far.

Scamacca clearly has a very positive influence on David Moyes’s side.

West Ham have won all seven games that the 23-year-old has started so far!

As a fanbase though, we shouldn’t expect too much too soon from the Italian hitman.

Moyes warned the Hammers fans yesterday that it may take a while before we see the best of Scamacca.

He clearly has all the tools needed to succeed in the Premier League though, not least his winning mentality…

Angry Gianluca Scamacca has mentality West Ham have desperately lacked

The 23-year-old striker is technically brilliant and has proven already that he is a superb finisher.

The Italy international clearly has the mentality needed to really help West Ham kick on this season as well.

The Hammers have been far too nice in previous years, but things are definitely starting to change.

Scamacca shared how angry he was when Fulham scored the opening goal at the London Stadium on Sunday, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

We were really angry after Fulham’s goal but we had a good reaction as a team. We won a really good match and it was an important win. I was happy to score. It was a good goal but the important thing was winning the game.

Too often in the past, West Ham have been a team that simply rolls over and surrenders after conceding first.

We are far from that now under David Moyes.

And an angry Gianluca Scamacca is evidence of just how much he wants to win.

That can only be a good thing for West Ham. Let’s hope that we’ve really turned the corner now.

And with players like Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta, Thilo Kehrer and Nayef Aguerd amongst our ranks now, the future at the London Stadium seems to be really bright.
