Jurgen Klopp was delighted with Liverpool’s victory yesterday, seemingly because of the sheer quality of West Ham.

As a Hammers fan, it was incredibly annoying that we didn’t take something from the game and David Moyes will surely be thinking the same.

A wonder save from Alisson Becker, a shocking miss from Antonio and the fact that we weren’t awarded a stonewall penalty in the first-half stopped us from going into half-time with a clear lead.

Klopp was hugely impressed with West Ham, and waxed lyrical about us in his post-match press conference…

The German addressed the media after the game and spoke about the threat that the Hammers posed.

Klopp responded when asked how challenging it was to play against West Ham, as quoted by Liverpool’s official website:

“On the other side, how well we defended the set-pieces of West Ham; again, everybody should know how good they are at that. Ali with an unbelievable save in a pretty important moment.”

We all know how much of a threat we are from set-pieces, especially since the arrival of James Ward-Prowse in the summer.

However, there are far more facets of our play that we need to start getting better at, if we are to finish inside the top seven this season.

Moyes has to find a way of getting Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta in the same team and when he does that, the quality of our football will improve overnight in my opinion. That said, it’s still nice to be a proper threat from set-pieces as well.

Jurgen Klopp highlighted just how dangerous that aspect of West Ham’s play is, and I’m sure we’ll cause every single team in the league problems from corners and free-kicks this season.
