Dimitri Payet has posted a picture of him playing during his West Ham United days onto his Instagram stories.
Payet was absolutely outstanding during his 18 month spell with the Hammers.
The now 35-year-old was an instant hit at West Ham. During 59 games for the Hammers, Payet racked up 15 goals and 22 assists (Transfermarkt).
He lit up Upton Park and the London Stadium with numerous displays of magical genius.
Payet left West Ham to return to Marseille in January 2017 for around £25 million (BBC), however, after falling out with Hammers boss at the time Slaven Bilic.
It was an acrimonious exit with many West Ham fans feeling incredibly bitter towards the Frenchman. Much time has passed now though and people are starting to understand why he left.
The Hammers board failed to show any ambition by backing Slaven Bilic in the transfer market and as a result, Payet wanted to ply his trade elsewhere. Fair enough.
It’s almost like water under the bridge now and the Marseille star seems to have moved on from the ill-feeling surrounding his exit as well…

The 35-year-old Frenchman is still a brilliant player, which is unusual for someone his age who plays in an attacking role.
It’s hard not to wonder what might have been, had he stayed at West Ham and been part of the team that’s currently flourishing under David Moyes.
And Payet took a trip down memory lane when he posted the below photo to his Instagram account today…
That’s actually good to see.
It proves that West Ham still hold a place in the mercurial 35-year-old’s heart.
And the Instagram posted from Payet will undoubtedly have a lot of West Ham fans dreaming of days gone by!
