David Ornstein has just hit the nail on the head regarding the current situation of West Ham United star Declan Rice.
The 23-year-old has been absolutely sensational for the Hammers over the past three years.

Rice has reached an entirely new level this season, however, and has transformed into more of a box-to-box midfielder from a static, deep-lying one.
Dec is under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024, with the Hammers holding an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
So he essentially has three years remaining on his contract with West Ham.
Keeping him in East London will be one of the main priorities for David Moyes this summer and beyond. Rice has been linked with big money moves to the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea recently (The Telegraph).
West Ham will demand a massive £150 million from any club that wants to sign the 23-year-old though, according to the Daily Mail.
We could be wring, but we just don’t see a world where Declan Rice leaves this summer. And one of the most respected journalists around has just backed up that viewpoint…
David Ornstein hits the nail on the head regarding Declan Rice
The 23-year-old is likely to remain at West Ham this summer. That’s the view of David ‘The Oracle’ Ornstein.
He told Sky Sports:
“Rice is a wonderful player and a wonderful character. He’s not been showing any poor behaviour, he’s been there model professional and has been playing out of his skin. Whether or not he wants to leave, he’ll continue playing to that level and continue shining. He’s got a World Cup to look forward to. And I think West Ham will say, ‘you’re not going anywhere, you’re under contract until 2025, unless something outrageous comes in financially in the summer, play out of your skin int he World Cup and then in the summer of 2023, then we’ll cash in when your value is at its maximum’. This supposed eight-year contract, I just don’t see him signing it. It feels like it’s West Ham saying we did all that we could to keep him at the club. At some point, I think the move will come. Whether it’s to Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona, who knows. But Declan Rice is going to the stars and I don’t think anyone would begrudge him a move when the time is right.”
Well said David. He’s absolutely spot on here.
Who in their right mind would sign an eight-year deal with any club!?
It’a a classic ‘we tried’ ploy from the West Ham board in our opinion.
Declan Rice will undoubtedly leave West Ham one day, as outlined by David Ornstein.
We firmly believe that he will be at the London Stadium next season though. And if the board show some real ambition in the transfer market this summer, then who knows/ Perhaps he might stay at West Ham beyond the summer of 2023.
