David Moyes transfer blow as Eintracht Frankfurt manager shares text message exchange with West Ham’s Europa League tormentor.
The Scot is clearly very keen to bolster his central midfield ranks at West Ham.
Tomas Soucek has declined badly over the past 12 months whilst Declan Rice’s future at the club is far from certain.

Now, the links with Sow were certainly interesting, after he really impressed for the Bundesliga side over two legs against West Ham in the Europa League last season.
It seems as though David Moyes has been dealt a big transfer blow though…
The 25-year-old Switzerland international is an integral part of the Eintracht Frankfurt squad.
And it seems as though he is more than happy to stay in Germany for the foreseeable future…
David Moyes transfer blow as manager shares message exchange with West Ham tormentor
Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner has been speaking to Hessenschau about Sow’s performances for Switzerland at the World Cup out in Qatar.
And Glasner responded when asked about recent reports linking the 25-year-old midfielder with an exit from Deutsche Bank Park:
If we manage to keep our tribe, then I see a great opportunity for Eintracht to sustainably bite into the top six to eight.
Glasner opened up on a text message exchange he shared with Sow, in which he congratulated the Swiss on a successful year – in the national team and at Eintracht:
He answered me: ‘Next year we will celebrate success with Eintracht.’ He explicitly wrote: ‘with harmony’.

It seems like West Ham will have no chance of singing Sow in January doesn’t it. And that will be a big blow to Moyes and the club as a whole.
He was brilliant for Eintracht Frankfurt against us last season and I think he would have added so much to Moyes’s central midfield ranks.
He is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, but can also operate in the deep-lying role or even in a more advanced position.
The Swiss ace possess impressive technique, has a great engine, is a superb passer of the football and never shirks the physical battle.
In 15 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, the 25-year-old has bagged two goals. During those outings, Sow has averaged 1.2 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 0.8 clearances per game (Who Scored).
During those 15 appearances, the midfielder has made 44.9 passes on average per match and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 86.5% (Who Scored).
Djibril Sow would have improved West Ham’s central midfield department immeasurably.
So missing out on him in January will be a big transfer blow for David Moyes, that’s for sure.
