David Moyes delivered his verdict on Said Benrahma after West Ham beat Aston Villa 1-0 at Villa Park yesterday.
It was a massive three points for the Hammers, and we are now sitting outside the relegation zone looking up.

David Moyes certainly wouldn’t have been happy with the performance from his players in the first-half.
The Scot made a big change at half-time, bringing Said Benrahma on in place of Emerson.

Moyes switched back to a 4-2-3-1 as well, and in our opinion, Benrahma and the change of system completely turned things in West Ham’s favour.
The West Ham boss admitted that Benny made a big difference but once again, just couldn’t allow himself to get too carried away with praise for the Algerian…
David Moyes delivers Said Benrahma verdict
The Scot was speaking to reporters after our win over Villa yesterday afternoon.
And Moyes responded when asked what he thought of Benrahma’s performance at Villa Park, as quoted by Football.London:
“I think he has had a good start to the season, but he has also had a mixed start to the season. Some of his bits, he played against Brighton where we didn’t see quite as much. Today, we saw it, we had seen it in bits against Nottingham Forest, but we know what we have got with Said. Sometimes, he can frustrate you, sometimes, he can make the difference. I thought today, he made a big difference for us when he came on.”

The thing is, some will say that Moyes is giving Benrahma tough love with this verdict.
Has anyone ever stopped to think that the Scot has badly mismanaged Benrahma though? Perhaps the 27-year-old needs an arm around him rather than to be told he’s done something wrong week in, week out.
Pablo Fornals, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio certainly don’t seem to get the same treatment on a consistent basis.
We think that the Algerian has been one of West Ham’s very best players this season.
And in our view, Moyes proved once again that he just isn’t sold on Benrahma, with his post-match verdict on the Algerian. Hopefully the time will come when the Hammers boss just gives the 27-year-old some unadulterated praise with no caveats. We think we could be waiting a long time for that though…
