Craig Dawson has given his honest verdict on the ‘Fake Dawson’ parody account on Twitter that has been dedicated to the West Ham cult hero.
The 32-year-old centre-back ended up staying at West Ham though. And thank God he did!
Dawson has been absolutely sensational for the Hammers since returning to David Moyes’s starting XI.

Many fans and so-called pundits view Dawson as an old-school, no nonsense defender, and in some ways, that’s exactly what he is.
The truth though, is that the 32-year-old has so much more about him than that.
He is a hugely popular figure at the London Stadium. Daws has established himself as a cult hero at West Ham but he’s actually a lot more than that. He’s a very good good defender, and labelling him as a cult hero really doesn’t do him justice.
He has undoubtedly forged a legendary status at West Ham though, in what has been such a short amount of time. He’s so popular that he has a parody account with over 25k followers dedicated to him!
Craig Dawson gives honest verdict on ‘Fake Dawson’ parody account on Twitter
The 32-year-old sat down for a wide-ranging interview with the club’s official website today.
And Dawson responded when asked about the parody account that has been created in dedication to him:

When I said about the lads getting on, I must get sent every fake Craig Dawson tweet a million times, so I know what’s going on! I’m not on social media so when anything happens it gets sent to me a million times, but it’s all great fun and it’s lovely to see and I’d like to say it’s a little bit to show how well we’ve done over the last couple of years with the success we’ve had. I’d say I’ve given everything I’ve got for the Club over the last couple of years and loved every minute of it.
Dawson isn’t actually on social media, so he gets informed by his teammates of the tweets posted by the parody account that has taken his name.
For some reason, the fact that Dawson isn’t on social media is so typical of him and it makes me love him even more!!!
Craig Dawson giving his verdict on the ‘Fake Dawson’ parody account on Twitter proves that he’s about as down to earth as they come.
And that is why he’s so loved by all the West Ham fans.
