Declan Rice posted a Twitter message to the fans after Arsenal dismantled West Ham United at the Emirates last night.

The Hammers are in real trouble at the moment, and last night’s defeat to Arsenal hammered home just how much work needs to be done by David Moyes.

West Ham are currently sitting in 16th place in the Premier League table, just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Moyes has failed to take this team forward. The Scot needs to mix things up and fast, if he is to change our fortunes this season.

The Scot’s post match message to the West Ham fans was hardly an inspiring one – basically just be thankful for what I’ve done!

Nothing less than a win will do for the Hammers against Brentford on Friday night. And Rice has highlighted the need for a response against the Bees…

The 23-year-old Hammers skipper has to shoulder the responsibility now. He needs to lift this team up on his shoulders and carry us through the terrible patch of form that we’re currently in.

David Moyes needs to mix things up, but the players quite simply need to do more as well.

Dec took to Twitter last night after our defeat to Arsenal and insisted that he and his teammates are desperate to put things right:

It’s all well and good the players keep posting tweets after we lose games.

But where is there reaction on the pitch when they next take to the field?

I just don’t see the fire in the players bellies anymore. It feels like Moyes has lost that dressing room, and if nothing changes very soon then we will be in real danger of getting relegated.

The Declan Rice Twitter message was just same of the old tired rhetoric that we’ve heard from the West Ham players this season after we’ve lost games.

Let’s hope that we see a proper reaction against Brentford. Because nothing less than a will do.
