Appalling West Ham player’s stats vs Arsenal will shock you, after a miserable night at the Emirates for David Moyes’s men.

The Hammers were soundly beaten by Arsenal in the end, and in fairness I think the scoreline actually flattered us.

West Ham were very lucky to go into the break a goal to the good, and then we got found out in the second half by a rampant Gunners side.

Tomas Soucek was one player who was particularly bad. I warned Moyes about starting the 27-year-old prior to the match because of his poor ball retention.

Moyes obviously didn’t agree though, and started the Czech Republic international yet again. The Scot’s stubbornness really could end up being his downfall at the London Stadium, if it hasn’t already caused it that is.

And his blind faith in Tomas Soucek is bad enough to warrant the sack in my opinion…

West Ham player’s stats vs Arsenal

The Czech midfielder was absolutely horrendous against the Gunners last night.

I was hugely surprised that it took Moyes until the 78th minute before he took him off.

Soucek shouldn’t have been starting, and he certainly should have been kept on the pitch for that long last night. He really was horrendous, and the stats back that up.

The 27-year-old had just 29 touches of the football – the least out of any West Ham player. The midfielder recorded just one tackle, zero interceptions and zero blocked shots (Who Scored).

Perhaps the worst stat of the bunch was his pass completion rate though. Soucek made only 19 passes all night and completed just eight of them – a woeful 42% (Who Scored)!!

Find me another central midfield in world football who has recorded passing numbers like that…I’ll wait.

Moyes now has to take matters into his own hands and drop Soucek. If the 27-year-old starts against Brentford on Friday, the Scot will be signing his own death warrant in my opinion.

Flynn Downes needs to come into the team as a matter of urgency. The 23-year-old will take us to another level and improve the quality of our play through the middle of the park tenfold.

Soucek’s stats vs Arsenal last night were atrocious. It’s time that Moyes wields the axe on the Czech before the owners do exactly that to him.
