West Ham United and Arsenal centre-backs Kurt Zouma and William Saliba officially stand alone in the Premier League.

Kurt Zouma has been superb for West Ham so far this season, and the same can be said for William Saliba at Arsenal.

It could be argued that the Hammers and Gunners defenders have been the best centre-backs in the Premier League so far this season.

David Moyes will be delighted with Zouma’s form, after he made the Frenchman the new club captain earlier this season.

He is apparently on the verge of being handed a new contract.

The 28-year-old is a huge fan favourite amongst the West Ham faithful, and he has undoubtedly been one of our best and most consistent performers over the past two years.

Now there’s evidence to back that up…

Kurt Zouma and William Saliba officially stand alone in the Premier League

The West Ham and Arsenal centre-backs have been like brick walls for their respective teams this term.

The Premier League’s official Twitter account posted a tweet last night, highlighting how neither player have missed a single minute in the league, nor have they been dribbled past – the only two defenders who haven’t been beat by an attacker this season:

Saliba is widely considered to be one of the best central defenders in world football, so for Zouma to be mentioned alongside him in a positive way is a really good thing for him.

The former Chelsea man seems to have gone from strength to strength since taking over as club captain after Declan Rice left to join Arsenal.

The fact that he has flourished with the added responsibility gives us an idea of his character, and that will be absolutely vital for us this season.

Kurt Zouma and William Saliba have been the standout centre-backs in the Premier League so far this season. And if that remains the case for the entire campaign, West Ham and Arsenal will both end up in good positions by the time that May rolls around.
