Astonishing David Moyes West Ham United stats make a case for the Scot being the best manager of this era.
After two years of massive progress at West Ham under Moyes, this season has been a strange one so far.
The Hammers made a dismal start to the campaign after spending £170m on eight new signings.
And that led to reports that Moyes had been given five games to save his job by West Ham’s owners.
But even as results have improved of late, some West Ham fans have been critical of Moyes’s tactics, with many feeling the football the side are playing is dull.
That has certainly been the case in the last two games against Silkeborg and Bournemouth.

Michail Antonio opened a can of worms when he inadvertently reinforced the belief among some supporters that Moyes sets West Ham up negatively.
West Ham’s manager has called for patience and trust on several occasions this season.
And after the wasteful win over Silkeborg, he reiterated he needs time to get his new-look team to gel.
On the flip side, Moyes has come out and criticised West Ham fans over a lack of atmosphere at recent home games.
Many fans feel that is a byproduct of the uninspired performances. Others state that the fans should be generating an atmosphere regardless of what they are seeing on the pitch.
So it all seems a bit niggly at the London Stadium right now. Some West Ham fans have even been running ‘Moyes In or Out’ polls on social media.
Regardless of your opinion on the style of play, to even ask the question seems unfathomable given some facts that have been posted online about the Hammers boss.
Because the astonishing Moyes West Ham stats make a case for Scot being best manager of this era and then some.
We already know Moyes led West Ham to their highest ever Prem points total in the 2020/21 season when we finished sixth and missed out on a Champions League spot by a solitary win.
But that’s just one of a host of records he now holds as West Ham manager.
Discounting Sir Trevor Brooking’s brief interim stint, Moyes now has the best win percentage of any West Ham manager in the Premier League era at 39% across his two spells. And the win percentage when taken just on his second spell is way out in front at nearly 46.5%.
As a result Moyes has the best Prem points per game record of any West Ham manager too – 1.42.
His team scores more goals per game than under any previous West Ham bosses, hitting the net 1.48 times per match on average.
Moyes has overseen West Ham’s best Premier League goal difference of +15. To put that into context, even when the Hammers finished fifth under Harry Redknapp, they ended the season with a minus goal difference.

Given West Ham’s European exploits of the last 18 months and the club’s lack of regular involvement in such competition throughout history, the following stats are perhaps not as surprising. But they are still club records and will take some beating in the future.
Moyes has managed more European games than any West Ham manager – 19.
He has overseen the most wins in Europe of any West Ham boss – 13.
As a result he has the best European win percentage of any West Ham boss too (68%). He has overseen more goals on the continent (34) than anyone else and has the best goal difference, a phenomenal +21.
David Moyes: the man, the myth, the legend? Well he’s certainly no myth.
