“Regan Clayton came in from the U18s and I thought he did excellent when he came on and added some quality, and it’s great we get that level from these lads coming into the U23s.”

The 17-year-old is an attacking left-back by trade and he has technical ability in abundance.

He’s obviously a long way away from playing for the first-team, but the early signs are very promising indeed.

It will be interesting to watch how his career develops over the next few years.

As Robson said, he is a truly excellent young talent.
