Gideon Kodua could end up saving West Ham millions in the transfer market with his ability to play in five different positions

Gideon Kodua continues to impress for West Ham United, and he could end up saving us millions in the transfer market.

West Ham youngster Gideon Kodua has been a standout performer for the club’s youth teams over the past 12 months or so.

During pre-season, the 19-year-old showcased his ability with an outstanding goal for the senior team during a friendly clash with Boreham Wood.

Hammers boss David Moyes will definitely have to strengthen his attacking ranks at the London Stadium over the course of the next year or so.

Or will he? Taking into account Kodua’s continual development, the Scot may well have a future star on his hands…

Gideon Kodua could end up saving West Ham millions in the transfer market

First and foremost, the 19-year-old is an unbelievably gifted young player. He has made his name as an attacking player, but he has operated in central midfield for Steve Potts’ side on more than one occasion this season.

In fact, he has played in a variety of positions for the under-21s this season.

Kodua is a natural attacker by trade and can operate on either wing, in the number 10 position and of course through the middle as a central striker.

The talented teenager is strong as an ox, possesses raw power and is an incredibly intelligent footballer. He’s also a really hard worker – something that’s a prerequisite if you are going to play for a David Moyes side.

He has bagged 26 goals and 12 assists in 51 games for the under-18s and two goals and two assists in 13 outings for the under-21s (Transfermarkt).

It will be really interesting to keep a close eye on his performances throughout the remainder of the season.

And who knows, if he continues to impress for the under-21s, Moyes might just call him up to train with the senior squad before not too long.
