Callum Marshall was at it yet again for the West Ham United under-21s on Friday night, during their 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

Steve Potts’ West Ham side are now sitting in second position in the league table behind Tottenham, and Callum Marshall has been the standout player for us the under-21s season.

The 19-year-old Hammers youngster has been in truly sensational form for the youth team this season, and David Moyes will undoubtedly be hugely excited at the prospect of the Northern Irishman hitting the big time.

Marshall has absolutely everything needed to succeed at the very top with West Ham and I reckon we’ve actually got a future superstar on our hands.

The next step for him will be to get some minutes for the senior side under Moyes, I reckon that time will come pretty soon.

Until then though, the fleet-footed attacker has to keep producing the goods for the under-21s – something that he’s been doing all season long…

Callum Marshall will save West Ham millions

The talented teenager bagged two goals for the Hammers under-21s against Forest two days ago.

After Marshall’s brace on Friday, he now has 18 goals in 11 domestic games for the under-21’s to his name (Transfermarkt). He also has two goals in three outings for the Hammers in the Premier League international Cup.

So it’s 20 goals already for the 19-year-old this season – he’s well on course for 40, and if he keeps scoring it will be impossible for Moyes to ignore him.

Divin Mubama has received substantial minutes for the first-team over the past couple of weeks, and Callum Marshall has to be looking to emulate his teenage West Ham teammate.

It has to be said, Marshall is easily as good as Mubama, if not better, so I fully expect to see him play for the senior team at some point this season.

The great thing is that the Northern Irishman will end up saving the Hammers tens of millions in the transfer market in the future, and that in itself is something to get really excited about.

He has only been a West Ham player for 15 months, but already looks like one of the best signings we’ve made in recent history. Here’s to watching him blossom over the next few years in East London.
