Sevilla ace Erik Lamela has noticed one thing in particular about West Ham ahead of the huge Europa League clash tonight.

The 30-year-old joined Sevilla from Tottenham in the summer of 2021 as part of the deal that saw Bryan Gil head in the opposite direction (The Guardian).

Lamela has actually impressed with Sevilla, which is more than he did during his time with Tottenham.

The Argentinian has bagged four goals and two assists in 16 games for the Spanish side so far this season (Transfermarkt).

If fit and selected to start against West Ham at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium tonight, Lamela will certainly need to be a player who we pay special attention to.

In fact, Sevilla have threats all over the pitch and the West Ham players will have to be 100% on top of their games.

The former Spurs man is very wary of the threat that the Hammers will pose as well though…

Sevilla Lamela wary of West Ham strength

Lamela has experience of playing against the Hammers from his time with Tottenham. He faced us eight times, winning three games, drawing two and losing three.

The South American was speaking to reporters last night ahead of the huge clash at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium tonight.

Lamela suggested that he has noticed one thing in particular about West Ham that makes us very dangerous, as quoted by Marca:

“About West Ham, they are a very physical and powerful team. We have to be intelligent. We have a very good squad and we are trained.”

David Moyes has performed miracles since taking over at the London Stadium back in December 2019.

The Scot has managed to transform us from relegation candidates into genuine top four contenders in the Premier League in an incredibly short period of time.

West Ham are a very well-drilled unit and are an extremely physical side. We pose a huge threat from set-pieces and Sevilla may well find it difficult if we play with a high tempo.

Premier League football is always played at a ferocious, intense speed and if we bring that kind of energy to The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium this evening, we may well cause an upset.
