One West Ham player will be particularly happy with Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio doubtful for Sevilla clash

Armstrong Okoflex might finally be given his big chance to shine with Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio both doubtful for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Sevilla.

Bowen suffered an injury nine days ago away at Liverpool and he is likely to miss the Hammers’ games against Sevilla and Tottenham (Claret and Hugh).

Meanwhile, Michail Antonio limped off against Aston Villa yesterday with some kind of leg injury.

If David Moyes is forced to select a lineup without Bowen and Antonio for our Europa League clash with Sevilla, it will obviously be a huge blow for West Ham.

However, it might just represent someone in particular with a huge opportunity that they would otherwise have not been given.

Bowen and Antonio injuries could hand youngster huge Sevilla chance

Armstrong Okoflex has been truly sensational for the Hammers’ under-23s this season.

The 20-year-old has bagged 15 goals and two assists in 19 games for West Ham’s U-23s this term (Transfermarkt).

The talented young forward is clearly an unbelievable talent.

Okoflex has skill and pace in abundance and seems to have the X-Factor needed to make it at the very highest level.

He actually played for the Hammers’ senior team during pre-season and didn’t look out of place one little bit.

But since then, he hasn’t been given a chance for with the first-team.

With Antonio and Bowen potentially missing from action for a while, however, that could all change.

Andriy Yarmolenko will undoubtedly start up front in our next two games if the two Englishmen are unfit to play.

Nikola Vlasic or Said Benrahma, depending on which one Moyes chooses to start out of the two, will be available from the bench but that will be it as far as senior attacking options go.

If West Ham are chasing the game, surely Moyes will turn to Okoflex from the bench, even if it’s only for 20 minutes or so.

Here’s a glimpse of what he’s capable of:

Moyes will never know whether the 20-year-old is capable of producing the goods at the very highest level unless he throws him in at the deep end.

And these next few weeks could very well be Okoflex’s time to shine.
