Hammers boss David Moyes will be absolutely desperate for his team to get off to a winning start in the group phase.

That said, the Scot will still most probably make numerous changes to his starting XI in order to give a chance to some of his fringe players, and new signings of course.

Konstantinos Mavropanos joined West Ham from Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, but he is still waiting to make his first appearance for the club.

And tonight could well be the night that all changes…

Possible debut for West Ham player vs Backa Topola

Mavropanos has to be put into the team sooner rather than later and what better opportunity will Moyes have than tomorrow night’s Europa League clash.

It’s obviously a very important game – one that Moyes will be desperate to win. However, the 25-year-old centre-back is an elite defender and he has plenty of experience in playing at the very highest level.

It will be vital for the former Arsenal and Stuttgart defender to get an appearance under his belt soon – it’s very hard to integrate a new centre-back into the side.

And it seems as though the West Ham Twitter account might have just hinted that Dinos will make his debut for the club tomorrow night:

I reckon that Mavropanos will definitely start the game tomorrow night, perhaps in place of Kurt Zouma.

The Hammers need Zouma for this weekend’s game against Liverpool whilst Nayef Aguerd could be in line to lose his place.

So I think it would be better for Moyes to start Aguerd alongside Mavropanos tonight and bring Zouma back into the team on Sunday alongside whichever one impresses most out of the Moroccan and the Greek ace.

The West Ham vs Backa Topola game will be the ideal time for Moyes to hand Mavropanos his debut. And I reckon that’s exactly what the Scot plans to do.
