What Fabrizio Romano says West Ham United boss David Moyes has told Chelsea about Armando Broja is amazing news.

Broja has been Moyes’ prime striker target since January.

All things considered the majority of West Ham fans would concur it has been a very promising transfer window so far.

But the most important work is still to be done, particularly up front when it comes to signing a striker. And the same can be said for London rivals Chelsea.

Following the departure of Romelu Lukaku there has been uncertainty as to whether the Blues will allow Broja to leave, let alone join West Ham.

Reports of late have claimed Chelsea would only be willing to sanction a loan deal with Broja highly regarded by Thomas Tuchel (Daily Mail).

And while West Ham are desperate for a new forward, a loan with little prospect of ever making it permanent would be terrible business by the Hammers given they have had nearly two years and three windows to identify and sign a striker.

Moyes himself has admitted in the past that he is generally not a big fan of loan deals, especially in key positions.

So what Fabrizio Romano says West Ham boss Moyes has told Chelsea about Broja is amazing news.

Because according to the Italian transfer specialist, Moyes and West Ham have insisted on a permanent deal for the Slough-born Albanian.

“West Ham are now close to signing Armando Broja,” Romano said on Twitter.

“Talks progressing with Chelsea, West Ham insist for permanent deal after official offer submitted but it’s up to Chelsea.

“Broja has agreed personal terms with West Ham – all parties are getting closer.

“West Ham and Chelsea are still in talks on final details of the deal like potential buy back clause or not, add ons… but the agreement for Armando Broja is really close and it will be permanent deal.

“Broja is now pushing, that’s why he’s flying back to England.”

Broja will be a sensational signing for West Ham if they can pull it off.

Even if West Ham do have to include a buy-back clause, as long as it is set at a high enough level then it would be worth it.
