West Ham could make a massive statement by beating Arsenal to the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca this summer.
And it appears as though Weest Ham could be ahead of Arsenal in the race to acquire the talented 23-year-old’s signature
90Min claims that the Hammers have actually made contact with Sassuolo about bringing the seven-capped Italy international to the London Stadium this summer.
David Moyes and Mikel Arteta are both desperate to sign a top-class centre-forward this summer. Will he end up at the London Stadium or the Emirates though?
West Ham make first move to beat Arsenal to Scamacca
90Min reckon that the Hammers have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race for the 23-year-old striker’s signature by initiating contact with Sassuolo.
Scamacca could be available for around £35 million this summer according to claims from well-renowned Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
That would represent fantastic value for either West Ham or Arsenal considering Scamacca’s outstanding talent and potential.
He will literally be the perfect striker signing for either David Moyes or Mikel Arteta.
The 23-year-old is an absolute unit. He stands at 6ft 5in tall but don’t let that fool you, he’s so much more than a bog-standard target man.
Sempre Inter recently described the towering striker as an ‘unbelievable’ player.
Scamacca possesses exceptional technique and has one of the most ferocious shots in the game at his disposal. Check this out:
Quite the talent!
Scamacca bagged 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season (Transfermarkt).
The Italian hitman possesses everything that David Moyes looks for in a striker. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is clearly looking for a similar sort of player to Moyes.
And we believe that if West Ham have already initiated contact with Sassuolo about signing Scamacca, we might just have a chance of beating Arsenal to the 23-year-old’s signature this summer.
