West Ham United are seemingly serious about signing one of the most prolific strikers in world football in January.

David Moyes desperately needs to bring a top-class, proven striker to West Ham in the January transfer window.

Michail Antonio has been absolutely woeful for the Hammers this season, and is currently out injured, whilst Danny Ings is not fit to wear the shirt.

With that in mind, signing a proven marksman is very much needed at the London Stadium, and that’s exactly what Moyes seems to be trying to do this winter.

Serhou Guirassy is firmly on the West Ham radar it seems – a player who we’ve been heavily linked with signing over the past few weeks and months.

A fresh claim has now been made out in Germany about exactly how serious our interest is in signing the Guinea international…

West Ham eyeing January striker deal

According to BILD, the Hammers have a ‘concrete interest’ in signing Guirassy this winter, and would have to pay just €17.5 million (£15 million) to make it happen.

What an unbelievable deal that would represent for West Ham, and Moyes quite simply has to get this one done.

He has bagged an incredible 18 goals in 13 games for Stuttgart this season (Transfermarkt), and is currently behind only Harry Kane in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.

The Stuttgart forward is ideally suited to the system that Moyes deploys at the London Stadium, and he would be a huge upgrade on Michail Antonio.

He is strong in the air, an incredibly powerful runner, has pace to burn and is an elite finisher.

West Ham signing Serhou Guirassy for just £15 million in the January transfer window really should be an absolute no-brainer.

Whether the Hammers are able to beat off competition for the Guinean’s signature this winter remains to be seen though.
