West Ham United have been handed a huge Serhou Guirassy boost, as David Moyes’s search for a top-class striker reaches desperation stages.
Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has been linked with a move to West Ham on numerous occasions already, most recently just last month.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a top-class striker in the January transfer window, with Michail Antonio clearly not the man for the job anymore.
The 33-year-old has been in absolutely woeful form this season, and it’s obvious to see that he has regressed badly as a player.
Meanwhile, Guirassy has gone from strength to strength out in Germany with Stuttgart this season, and he cannot stop scoring.
However, the good news for the Hammers is that he might just be available this winter…

West Ham could sign Serhou Guirassy for bargain fee
The 27-year-old Stuttgart hitman has been discussing life in the Bundesliga, when speaking exclusively to The Guardian.
And Guirassy responded when asked by Guardian reporter Ed Aarons whether he harbours ambitions of moving to the Premier League one day:
“I cannot hide these things – everyone knows the Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. But at this time I don’t close any doors. There are some very big teams in Europe and it’s not focused only on the Premier League. At Stuttgart we have such a good team and everything is possible in football. If we can continue to be humble like we have been so far then we have a good chance.”
The Guardian suggest that the Guinea international has a €17.5 million (£15 million) release clause inserted into his current contract with Stuttgart.
Moyes should be going all out to bring him to the London Stadium this winter – the striker has been in absolutely red-hot form in Germany this season, and he’s perfectly suited to our system.
The 27-year-old has bagged an incredible 15 goals and two assists in just nine appearances in all competitions for his club this season (Transfermarkt).
He is strong in the air, an incredibly powerful runner, has pace to burn and is an elite finisher. West Ham signing Serhou Guirassy for just £15 million in the January transfer window really should be an absolute no-brainer.
The Hammers manager and the owners really cannot afford to allow this hugely exciting opportunity to pass them by. Guirassy playing in between Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, and just in front of Lucas Paqueta, would take us to a whole new level entirely.
There is quite literally no reason whatsoever for West Ham not to make this happen.
